My hubby has been a total rock to me this year with my MIT journey, so earlier on this term, when he got a call from one of his suppliers asking him to attend a course in Christchurch we decided we would both go down. I asked for a few days leave without pay, and we booked tickets, however as it worked out, my baby sitting options were a little short on the ground so it was decided that while our boys would go and stay with Uncle David, and get themselves off to school each morning, we would take our daughter with us.
One of the things I had already decided to do while down in Christchuch was to visit Heather, one or my MIT buddies this year and see both her and her class in action. This was such a magic experience, and actually as it turned out our daughter LOVED being in a Te Reo immersion classroom, and made lots of new friends. She also had great fun sharing our learning via our classroom blog, with her new friends and the whole class in total. Two of the most memorable parts of this experience was having half her class singing along and commenting on our class video's. The other memorable part was seeing the Te Reo games Heather played with her class as both a brain break and a reinforcement of their learning.
